Meet Our PEAK Team
Our associate tutors are passionate, energetic, and systematic in their work. Their academic credentials and record of results exceed those of the highest level tutors at most other companies. Each associate is an accomplished educator whose commitment to teaching and diversity of interests facilitate the formation of a strong rapport between tutor and student.
Lauren Barton |
Lauren has been with Peak since 2015 and currently teaches math at Scarsdale High School. She received her bachelor's degree from Yale University and her master's degree in math education from NYU in 1999. In addition to teaching and tutoring, she coaches the Scarsdale Varsity Field Hockey team and advises the Student Government. Her specialties with Peak include SAT and ACT math and academic enrichment in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus.

RACHEL BAUMANN |
As an executive function coach, school psychologist, and therapist, Rachel prepares students to meet their academic needs through an executive function lens. Rachel graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Bates College, where she created her own major, Comparative Literatures of Justice, in which she examined Holocaust literature as a form of resistance to oppression. After Bates, Rachel did graduate work at Yale Divinity School, in the M.Div program, and then completed her graduate studies in school psychology at Fairfield University.
Rachel opened her own private therapy practice, Fairfield Therapy, where she treats children, teens, and adults using evidence-based strategies to help them with mental health. She loves to spend time outdoors with her friends and her English Setter, Quincy. |
Hanna Cohen |
Hanna has worked with Peak since 2014. She received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Princeton University and her J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center. Throughout college and law school, Hanna tutored math and science. She then practiced patent law, specializing in chemical and pharmaceutical patents, for a decade before returning to tutoring. Hanna is the mother of three energetic boys and one goofy dog. She specializes in ACT math, ACT science, and SAT math.

KELLY DELANE |
Kelly is a former Peak student and current second grade teacher at Brunswick School. She received her master's degree in childhood special and general education from Bank Street College of Education in 2020. She received her bachelor's degree in psychology, with a minor in education studies, from Middlebury College, where she was the captain of the Varsity Swim Team. Kelly continues to coach swimming, most recently at The Apawamis Club in Rye, NY. Her specialties with Peak include elementary, middle, and early high school school academic enrichment (Reading Skills, Writing Workshop, Spanish, and Math).

Katie Dunn |
Katie has been tutoring math since 2000, when she was a high school student. She graduated cum laude from Duke University in 2007, receiving her bachelor’s degree in mathematics. Katie tutors math academic subjects across elementary, middle, and high school, and she also works with both the SAT and ACT exams. She loves to share her passion for math with her students, and she also understands that schoolwork and test preparation can be stressful. As a mindfulness practitioner, Katie creates a warm and nurturing environment to help ease anxiety and build confidence.

Brit Foster |
Brit is a former Rye High School English teacher who began working with Peak in 2007. She earned her master’s degree in English education from Columbia University’s Teachers College in 2004 and her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 2001. While helping students hone their Critical Reading skills, Brit also prepares them for the mental challenges of the test, focusing on the power of cultivating a growth mindset, developing positive self-talk, and implementing strategic goal setting. She emphasizes the connections between the skills needed for the exam and those needed for success in school—helping students maximize their potential in both arenas. Brit’s specialties with Peak include SAT Evidence-Based Reading, college essay mentoring, and executive functioning.

Jared Olbrys

Jared O. is a Peak Performance and Dartmouth College alumnus who majored in East Asian studies with a focus on Chinese language. Currently, Jared works with Peak students in the following areas: SAT, ACT, math, chemistry, biology, physics, and Chinese language. In addition to tutoring a broad range of subjects, Jared also helps administer our SAT and ACT practice testing on weekends.

Andrew has been with Peak since 2014 and currently teaches AP English at Manhattan Hunter Science HS near Lincoln Center. He received his master's degree in English literature and adolescent education from Hunter College in 2013. He received his bachelor's degree in journalism and communication from New York University. Andrew's specialties with Peak include ACT Reading, English and Science, SAT Reading, AP Literature and AP Language, and various forms of Writing Mentorship.

STEVE SKONIECZNY |
Steve has been with Peak since 2018. He currently teaches math at Byram Hills High School, where he also serves as the assistant coach for the varsity boys' soccer program. Steve received his master's degree in school psychology from Marist College and his bachelor's degree in math education from Siena College. His specialties with Peak include SAT & ACT math, SSAT math, and academic enrichment in pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and pre-calculus.

liz KANG SMITH |
Liz has been with Peak Performance since 2012. She received her master's degree in business administration from New York University in 2009. She received her bachelor's degree in applied economics and business management from Cornell University in 2000. Liz is a Rye Mom and has three daughters. She is currently serving on the Osborn Elementary PTO as Co-President. Liz specializes in ACT Math and SAT Math.

Meghan is an independent school educator with eighteen years of teaching experience in high school English classrooms at Cate School (Carpinteria, CA), The American School in London (UK), and Windward School (Los Angeles, CA)) and seven years chairing English departments. Meghan earned her B.A. in English and Creative Writing (Summa Cum Laude) from Emory University (2001), her M.A. in Literature and Writing from Boston University (2004), and her M.Ed. from Teachers College at Columbia University (2015). Meghan adores literature and writing, and teaching in these realms continues to be one of her greatest joys.
